Workshop & Equipment Manager

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual for this role. Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning, design, construction oversight, and commissioning of the central workshop and main store (layout, utilities, security, workflow).Develop and implement workshop policies, procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintenance manuals, and quality control processes.Establish parts/stores management systems (inventory classification, bin locations, stock levels, procurement procedures, spare-parts cataloguing).Select and deploy workshop equipment, tooling, lifting gear, test equipment, and IT systems (CMMS/ERP).Recruit, train, and organize workshop and store staff; define roles, KPIs, and training plans.Create preventive and predictive maintenance programs, inspection schedules, and repair workflows for heavy equipment and vehicles.Establish safety, environmental and regulatory compliance procedures for workshop operations (PPE, permits, waste management).Manage budgets, CAPEX for workshop setup, operational costs, and lifecycle cost analysis.Coordinate with project managers for equipment allocation, mobilization, and downtime minimization.Prepare reports, manuals, as-built documentation, and handover packages for workshop and stores.
