Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is a local, non-governmental, developmental, and humanitarian organization established in 2007. ESD is dedicated to creating a brighter future for children, youth, and women by addressing the root causes of poverty and promoting sustainable, community-driven solutions.

Operating across six regional states in Ethiopia—Amhara, Oromia, Sidama, South Ethiopia, Central Ethiopia, and Benishangul-Gumuz—ESD implements integrated programs designed to strengthen resilience and foster long-term development. Program Areas

• Early Childhood Development: Promoting holistic development and school readiness for young children through quality early learning and care interventions
• Women and Girls' Empowerment: Advancing gender equality by improving access to education, economic opportunities, protection services, and leadership development
• Education Quality Improvement: Enhancing access to inclusive, equitable, and quality education through teacher training, school improvement initiatives, and community engagement
