About the Organization
Danish Refugee Council is one of the world's leading humanitarian NGOs. We are currently seeking a highly qualified Supply Chain Assistant – Warehouse/Fleet for our operations in the Dollo Ado Field Office in Ethiopia.
Overall Purpose of the Role
Under the direct management and daily supervision of the Supply Chain Officer, the Supply Chain Assistant will support the management of stocks, supplies, assets, fleet, and inventory within the Dollo Ado Area Office. The role involves assisting with procurement, inventory management, asset tracking, and ensuring that operational and safety procedures are consistently followed to support the smooth functioning of DRC programs.
Key Responsibilities
Stock and Warehouse Management
- Maintain an up-to-date tracker of all DRC stock, updated daily, under the supervision of the Supply Chain Officer
- Share the stock tracker weekly with all staff and keep requestors informed of the status of program supplies in the warehouse/store rooms
- Receive stock to DRC warehouse and store rooms, ensuring stocks are correctly stored and organized
- Conduct regular warehouse and store checks to ensure stocks and supplies remain undamaged
- Undertake maintenance of premises as required to ensure safe storage conditions
- Release stock from DRC warehouses and store rooms to staff at the direction of the Supply Chain Officer or Area Manager, using appropriate documentation with necessary approvals
- Supervise daily workers to conduct loading and unloading of stocks and supplies, following DRC procedures
- Arrange transport of supplies and stock to field locations in coordination with the Supply Chain Assistant (Procurement) using appropriate documentation
Asset Management
- Maintain an up-to-date tracker of all DRC assets, updated monthly under the supervision of the Supply Chain Officer
- Release assets to staff at the direction of the Supply Chain Officer or Area Manager using appropriate documentation
