Senior Attorney

Position Overview

An established company is recruiting a Senior Attorney to support business continuity and growth by preparing pleadings based on legal requirements stipulated in the Ethiopian Civil Procedure Code and other relevant laws. The successful candidate will represent the company before judicial and quasi-judicial organs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare draft pleadings including petitions, defenses, and other pleadings as required by the Ethiopian Civil Procedure Code
• Conduct investigations and research to support cases, including gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses
• Represent the company in oral litigation and witness examination before judicial and quasi-judicial organs
• Conduct and follow up on court proceedings until a final decision is rendered on the case
• Open execution files and follow up on the effective execution of court judgments rendered in favor of the company
• Conduct research on the causes of legal cases and make recommendations on remedial actions
• Coordinate and follow up on the documentation and retrieval of court case files
