Senior Accountant (Female only)

About the Role

Rabah & Son's PLC is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This critical role is responsible for managing the financial health of our projects, ensuring accurate job costing, revenue recognition, and compliance with construction-specific accounting principles (IFRS/Ethiopian standards).

Required Experience

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Minimum 3-4 years of specific experience in the construction industry

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the proper application of revenue recognition methods (e.g., IFRS 15: Revenue from Contracts with Customers) for all active contracts
• Perform complex general ledger account reconciliations and analyses to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
• Manage the accounting cycle for our business center, including recording rental income, tracking tenant deposits, managing operating expenses, and ensuring compliance with lease agreements
• Lead the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial reviews and tax preparation, providing necessary documentation
• Ensure compliance with all Ethiopian tax laws and financial reporting regulations relevant to the construction industry
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Expertise in IFRS and Ethiopian accounting standards
• Knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices
• Proficiency in general ledger management and financial reconciliations
• Understanding of revenue recognition standards and contract accounting
• Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities
• Experience with financial close processes and audit coordination
