About Oromia Private Schools AssociationThe Oromia Private Schools Association was established in 2003 E.C. by 97 private and non-government school owners to work together with other stakeholders (Government and Non-Government) to ensure quality, scientific and research-based education in the region. Currently, the Association has more than 655 member schools that have being engaged in teaching and learning activities in all zones and municipalities of the region. The core mission of the association is developing and allocating educational materials including student text books based on the Regional Education Bureau curriculum, enhancing cooperation & partnership spirit among member schools, representing the private schools on regional and national educational issues, offering professional on job/off-job capacity building trainings for private school teachers and workers to improve education quality, devising new approaches, initiatives and emerging global technologies to the member schools that advance the education sector, and etc. OPSA is seeking highly qualified candidates for the following positions:Position I: Senior AccountantRequired number: 1Salary: NegotiablePlace of Work: Addis Ababa (Head Office)Duration of Employment: Permanent after probation period.Job Summary The main responsibilities of senior Accountant include reconciling accountant balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month end close procedures. A Successful senior Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. And also should collaborate with the finance department; lead junior accountant and ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of accounting tasks of the Association.Key Responsibilities:Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.Provide technical support and advice on accounting issues.Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.Manage accounting assistant and bookkeepers.Provide input in to association’s goal setting process.Prepare financial statements and procedure budget according to schedule.Direct external audits to ensure compliance.Plan, assign, and review store keeper and junior finance staff’s work.Support month-end and year –end close process.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports of the Association.
