## Title: Researcher I – Data Manager

About the Organization

The Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) was established in 1970 through the initiative of the Norwegian and Swedish Save the Children organizations, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia. The Institute formally joined the Ethiopian Ministry of Health in 2004 and, in 2016, was designated as a government health agency under the Council of Ministers Regulation No. 376/2016. AHRI maintains strong national and international partnerships and actively participates in peer-reviewed grant-funded projects, clinical trials, capacity-building initiatives, and the training of MSc and PhD students.

About the Project

AHRI, in collaboration with local and international partners, is implementing a multi-country research project entitled: "Optimizing Severe Pneumonia Management in Children through Scale-up of Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (bCPAP) Technology in Low-Income Settings (OPT-bCPAP)."

This project is funded by the Global Health European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP3) and is being conducted in partnership with institutions in Ethiopia, Nigeria, Malawi, South Africa, and Sweden.

Position Overview

AHRI is seeking a highly qualified Researcher I – Data Manager to lead and coordinate all data management activities for the OPT-bCPAP project. The successful candidate will work closely with Principal Investigators across participating countries, Work Package Leads, AHRI project staff, partner institutions in Nigeria and Malawi, and field teams to ensure high-quality, timely, secure, and compliant data management across all study sites.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management Leadership and Coordination

  • Establish and maintain a secure, centralized project database
  • Lead and coordinate all data management activities, including data receipt, batching, cleaning, validation, merging, and archiving
  • Coordinate data management activities across international partner institutions
