About the Organization
Reach The Needy – Ethiopia (RTN-Ethiopia) is a child-focused, community-based, non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to helping deprived, excluded, and vulnerable children become productive, confident, and responsible citizens, parents, and leaders. RTN-Ethiopia works in partnership with organizations including ChildFund, CARE Ethiopia, PLAN Ethiopia, and UNICEF on various development and humanitarian programs.
Position Overview
Location: Sidama Region, Dara Woreda
Number of Positions: 1
Employment Terms: One-year contract with possibility of extension based on fund availability and work performance
Salary: Based on the organization's salary scale
Job Summary
The Project Officer will create accountability systems for the sponsorship program, support community service-seeking behavior, analyze complaints, and provide feedback for program improvement with the objective of reducing child labor in project operational areas. The position is responsible for day-to-day implementation, coordination, and monitoring of sponsorship programs, education, and livelihood activities at community and school levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children and their households to access quality, inclusive education
- Facilitate livelihood improvement initiatives
- Ensure effective community engagement
- Implement safeguarding and accountability mechanisms
- Develop annual plans in consultation with supervisor and project staff
- Monitor program implementation and progress
Reporting
The Project Officer will report to the Program Coordinator of RTN-Ethiopia.
Project Focus Areas
This position supports sponsorship project interventions in:
- Sidama Region (Dara Woreda Kebeles)
- South Ethiopia Region (Wolaita Zone, Boloso Sore Woreda)
