Position Details
Location: Dacenech Field Office, Ethiopia
Duration: One year with the possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and control the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reports, and payroll
- Reconcile and follow up on financial statements and bank reconciliations monthly
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Support the project admin and finance officer in budget planning, modification, and forecasting
- Ensure that reported expenditure is reconciled with accounting records
- Verify that financial reports include required documentation before sharing
- Assist admin and finance officer with project administration matters, including procurement and close-out activities
- Process authorized payments to suppliers, purchasers, and staff in a timely manner
- Effect payments for utilities (electric, water, internet, fax, and telephone) in a timely manner
- Prepare check payment vouchers, journal vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents
- Coordinate with branch office accountants and finance officers
- Ensure proper and timely settlement of income tax, pension contributions, provident fund, and withholding tax
- Follow up on office property management and ensure necessary office supplies are maintained
