• Assignment Duration: Six months

Position Summary

The Mechanic is responsible for providing on-site and mobile vehicle maintenance services for The Carter Center - Ethiopia (TCCE) vehicles, primarily at the Gambella Regional Office and supported district offices. This position ensures timely and cost-effective execution of scheduled vehicle services and maintains fleet operational readiness and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled vehicle maintenance services (A, B, and where feasible C and D services)
• Perform minor repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance
• Operate as a mobile garage by traveling to field locations using assigned vehicles
• Perform maintenance activities at the regional office compound and district offices
• Provide hands-on technical support and coaching to driver logisticians
• Ensure proper use of tools and spare parts
• Adhere to transport and safety policies
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Coordinate with the Regional Logistics Officer, Vehicle Maintenance Coordinator, Fleet Officer, Regional Storekeeper, Regional Project Manager and Logistics & Procurement Manager
• Assess TCCE vehicle operations, maintenance costs, and vehicle service years
• Evaluate the capacity and strengths of existing garage services
• Provide periodic reports with technical recommendations to TCCE management and leadership for decision-making purposes
