## Title: Local Purchase Officer

Job Summary

The Local Purchase Officer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies needed for construction projects. This role involves coordinating and executing procurement activities, sourcing and acquiring goods from local suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials while adhering to company policies and regulations. The position ensures cost-effective acquisition and supports operational efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supplier Communication: Communicate with suppliers regarding required goods and services, obtaining price quotes, confirming product availability, and establishing delivery timelines while ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Purchase Order Processing: Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions and project requirements, ensuring timely delivery of items.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Assess the performance and reliability of existing suppliers and identify potential new suppliers based on quality, delivery capability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Price Negotiation: Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
  • Order Tracking: Monitor the status of open purchase orders, track deliveries, and follow up with suppliers as needed.
  • Quality Control: Inspect received materials and equipment to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.
  • Internal Coordination: Coordinate with internal departments to understand user department and procurement needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve issues related to delayed shipments, defective goods, or invoice discrepancies.
  • Emergency Procurement: Handle urgent or unplanned procurement requests promptly.
  • Budget Tracking: Monitor procurement expenses and report on budget adherence.
  • Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
