Position Details

  • Job Title: Laboratory Technologist
  • Location: Addis Ababa - Yeka Sub City, Kotebe
  • Reports To: General Practitioner (GP) and DIC Coordinator
  • Contract Type: Definite Period Contract
  • Grade: Grade 4
  • Positions Available: 1

Job Purpose

The Laboratory Technologist supports the overall integrated clinical service, including USAID-funded HIV Prevention, Testing, and Treatment Services for Key Populations. This position plays a critical role in HTS (HIV Testing Services) yield maximization activities and supports other packages within the overall combination prevention and test-and-treat activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Synergize team roles and responsibilities of the specific DIC and BPDO at large
  • Pay maximum attention and effort to maximizing HTC (HIV Testing Counseling) yield in the DIC
  • Collect samples for CD4, CBC, viral load, and other required laboratory tests
  • Maintain key relationships with all staff, partners, and beneficiaries
  • Support the overall integrated clinical service delivery
