Position Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Finance Officer / Accountant to manage and oversee all financial operations of the company. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial record-keeping, timely reporting, legal compliance, and support strategic financial decision-making for a diversified business engaged in import/export, construction, and various commercial operations. The role requires proactive communication with leadership, compliance with Ethiopian tax and financial laws, and the ability to maintain sound internal financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions & Accounting
- Record and monitor daily financial transactions (receipts, payments, invoices, and journal entries)
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate general ledger entries
- Handle payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax and pension deductions
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial documentation
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Generate financial reports to assist management in decision-making
