Position Overview

CRS is seeking a Project Director to manage a strategic three-year U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Local and Regional Purchase (LRP) grant project based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. This position is contingent on receiving funding from the donor.

Project Background

The project will support the Burkina Faso Ministry of Education to improve school canteen procurement systems. The LRP initiative targets the supply of locally produced and procured nutritious foods for public primary schools in the Centre North region, strengthening local food supply chains and institutional capacity.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the program's overall operations and implementation
• Direct food supply chain management using a "Farm to Fork" approach, engaging producers, transporters, and institutional partners
• Build institutional capacity with the School Feeding program of the Ministry of Education, Literacy, and Promotion of National Languages (MENAPLN)
• Strengthen and implement local procurement mechanisms to ensure sufficient nutritious foods for grade school children in government schools
• Coordinate with key partners at national and local levels, including the Ministry of Agriculture, mayors, and School Management Committees (COGES)
• Manage project operations and ensure program objectives are met
