Position Overview
The United States Peace Corps Burkina Faso is recruiting for a full-time contract position based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. This is a senior staff level position with responsibilities related to Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV) support, emergency management, financial oversight, and organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate all aspects of the Health Program
- Provide technical, moral, and operational support to over 100 Peace Corps Volunteers working throughout Burkina Faso
- Establish and maintain contacts with senior-level government officials to plan, develop, and manage projects aligned with Peace Corps and Government of Burkina Faso goals and priorities
- Identify and coordinate with national and international development organizations and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) involved in health activities
- Manage budgeting, program direction, and policy formulation and implementation
- Provide staff direction and oversight
- Direct supervision of one or more Programming and Training Assistants
- Travel extensively throughout Burkina Faso
Required Qualifications
- Fluent French language skills
- High level of spoken and written English proficiency
- Ability to function with minimal technical supervision
- Senior staff level experience and capabilities
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Director of Programming and Training.
Compensation
Final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and salary history in similar positions.
