About the Organization
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is a Japanese governmental agency that implements Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) and promotes international cooperation. JICA has been active in Ghana for more than 60 years, implementing programs across Infrastructure, Agriculture, Industry, Health, Education, and Governance sectors.
Position Overview
JICA Ghana Office is seeking a qualified and experienced Program Specialist in Agricultural Sector Development and related sectors including Rural Development, Microfinance, Climate Change, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries, and Forest Conservation.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate projects in agriculture and related sectors through discussion with office members and government officials
- Implement or assist in the implementation of JICA's projects with office members, JICA headquarters staff, experts, and government officials
- Assist missions and experts through various arrangements and logistical support, including procurement, documentation, official correspondence, and meeting minutes
- Maintain frequent communication with office members, Japanese experts, and counterparts in Ghanaian government agencies
- Conduct and assist in the evaluation of JICA's projects and activities in accordance with JICA procedures
- Collect, analyze, and report information and policies related to agriculture and related sectors by attending relevant meetings and preparing summaries, reports, and minutes
- Provide logistical support including vehicle arrangements, appointment scheduling, document preparation, meeting room coordination, and event venue arrangements
- Contribute to drafting the agriculture section of the JCAP (JICA Country Analysis Paper)
