Position Overview:
Job Title: Head of Finance
Main Purpose of the Job
- Lead the central account unit of the bank and provide budgetary and accounting support for the Head of Operations
- Supervises and allocate the work of the central account unit to ensure that all tasks are assigned and completed within prescribed timescales
- Manage and ensure the reconciliation of all internal accounts of the bank (ACHCCC, Ghana Pay etc)
- Manage the payroll and utilities of the bank
- Monitor and contribute to the preparation of financial reports, including weekly and monthly reports, annual accounts, budget preparation etc
- Manage the fixed assets and lenancy agreement of the bank
- Identify any training and development requirements within the Central Account unit and ensure that these are met
- Arrange and conduct training on accounting or financial systems issues as required
- Work with audit, tax and other regulatory bodies to ensure overall coordination of all financial accounting activities through monthly or annual reports
- Prepare a half-yearly summary feedback of financial statements variances from budget
- Actively review and advise management on financial and accounting processes
- First Degree in Accounting, Finance or Banking with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a related role
- Must be a member of any of the following professional bodies ICA, ACCA, CIMA.
- Proficient in T24 banking software and other banking application
- Central Accounts Banking Operations and Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS, BASEL and Other)
- Accounting and banking principles and procedures
- Tax laws and related regulations
- Bank of Ghana regulations, directives and other regulatory frameworks
- Good leadership and interpersonal skills
