Position Overview

Médecins Sans Frontières - Support Unit Kampala (SUKA) is recruiting a Transport & Customs Officer to perform day-to-day activities and administrative processes for the clearance and transportation of medical and non-medical goods. This role ensures optimal mission running according to MSF protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and plan shipments of goods between projects and from the capital to projects, in collaboration with the line manager and Warehouse Supervisor
• Handle reception of international freight and coordinate forwarding to the field, managing all customs administrative issues
• Regularly assess the local transport market (companies, prices, services, delays) and propose third-party providers for validation
• Follow up personally on all cargo clearance and authority formalities in the field, including ice pack changes at the airport, deposit and exit units at URA, and delivery of necessary documents to external offices and airport cargo clearance
• Supervise all loading and offloading of cargo and support customs agents in clearing MSF cargo upon request
