Power/Data Center Engineer

About the Role

True North Consult Ltd is seeking a Power/Data Center Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a contractor position based in Kampala, Uganda, with a contract period of one (1) year.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee data center infrastructure implementation
• Independently complete delivery planning for Level-C Data Centers
• Manage power supply and distribution systems
• Supervise HVAC systems and related installations
• Apply project management knowledge to ensure successful project completion

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3-5 years of working experience in a related field

Required Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including construction standards, power supply and distribution, and data center products
• Familiarity with strong and weak current (high and low voltage) systems
• Knowledge of HVAC systems
• Civil engineering knowledge, including tier architecture and data center design requirements
• Proficiency with CAD drawings and high-level design
• Understanding of data center solutions and DC solution implementation
• Knowledge of data center maintenance and products
• Project management knowledge
