Mechanical Technician

About the Role

Human Capital Business Solutions is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Technician to join our team in Uganda. In this full-time position, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing our mechanical equipment to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Minimize unplanned downtime through proactive troubleshooting and rapid corrective repairs
• Conduct systematic root cause analysis (RCA) on defective or failing machines
• Eliminate recurring issues at the source to prevent future failures
• Achieve and exceed targeted Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics
• Maximize equipment availability, performance, and quality output
• Diagnose mechanical issues and implement solutions

Required Qualifications

• Mechanical Diploma from a recognized College or University
• Associate degree or equivalent technical qualification

Required Experience & Skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical fabrication
• Basic welding skills
• Blade settings expertise
• Proven ability to diagnose mechanical issues
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Root cause analysis (RCA) experience
• Mechanical diagnostics proficiency
