Quality Control Technician

Role Summary and Purpose

The Quality Control Technician will ensure that quality and food safety standards are upheld in accordance with internal and national standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Enforce compliance with food safety and quality standards including HACCP, GMP, SSOP, ISO 22000, and BAP, as well as local regulatory guidelines (MAAIF) and EU export requirements
• Ensure fish meets specifications and safety requirements by inspecting incoming fish, verifying traceability, and monitoring processing steps
• Ensure microbial and chemical safety by conducting and coordinating microbiological sampling
• Maintain high hygiene and housekeeping standards across all processing operations by verifying implementation of SSOPs
• Enforce proper documentation and record keeping including HACCP logs, CCP monitoring sheets, temperature records, and non-conformance reports
• Provide staff training and awareness on hygiene, GMP, and HACCP procedures

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Food Science and Technology or Fisheries and Aquaculture
• At least 2 years of experience working in a primary processing facility

Required Skills and Abilities

• Competent in MS Office and computer skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with cross-functional teams
• Problem-solving and analytical thinking
