Legal Counsel – Assistant Vice President

About the Role

This is an intermediate-level position offering an excellent career development opportunity. As Legal Counsel – Assistant Vice President, you will provide comprehensive legal counsel and support to Citibank Tanzania Limited across a broad range of practice areas, with respect to local laws and regulations of Tanzania. You will report to the Country General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities

• In coordination with the Country Counsel, provide legal advice and support to Country Business Management on legal, control function, and regulatory matters associated with Citi's business activities and legal entities in Tanzania
• Ensure that Citi appropriately addresses legal, regulatory, franchise, and reputational risks
• Support strategic initiatives of the businesses and functions by providing the Citi Country Officer with guidance and interpretations of relevant laws, rules, and regulations
• Provide guidance, support, and legal advice on Citi's businesses and functions in Tanzania
