Manager; Trade Operations

Job Purpose

Responsible for preparing, engaging with, and contacting clients to ensure trade-related products are processed according to governing rules and regulations within your area of expertise.

Main Responsibilities

• Create weekly, quarterly, and monthly plans to ensure delivery on objectives for the year
• Ensure Trade Finance product processes and controls support NMB's overall business strategy
• Take accountability for monitoring and achievement of performance objectives
• Manage key risk indicators falling under the role and escalate any risk issues identified during processes in a timely manner
• Ensure adherence to the company's security policy and controls when accessing systems
• Evaluate current market offerings in trade finance specialization, particularly in infrastructure, to offer competitive services and products
• Serve as the central point of contact for product sales and services
• Support Transactional Banking and coverage teams across business segments to ensure all generated ideas are appropriately executed end-to-end
• Generate leads to other bank units through cross-selling bank products and supporting Panbank initiatives
• Identify opportunities across banking propositions and provide specialized advice
• Review utilization against approved limits in offer letters; ensure prices and limits are set before processing contracts or any product-related transactions
• Review daily and monthly reports, especially for reconciliations of Letters of Credit, Cash Cover, Guarantees, and Trade Loans, ensuring timely settlements

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Business understanding of Tanzanian banking products and systems that support them
