Technician Instrumentation

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and calibrating all instrumentation equipment, electronic and electro-pneumatic instruments, and weighing devices to required standards and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical fault tracing and rectification
• Conduct routine inspections of electronic field and control panel instruments, computers, DCS systems, and PLC systems
• Execute planned maintenance tasks to ensure instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment remain in optimal working condition for plant operation
• Carry out electronic and electro-pneumatic calibration and repair tasks as allocated
• Overhaul and calibrate electronic control instruments on all weighing equipment
• Install and commission instrumentation and electrical projects
• Install and assist with installation of mechanical and electrical equipment and pumps
• Communicate and inform colleagues and line management on instrument functionality
• Report on the status of spares and requirements for the distillery and associated sections
• Provide hands-on involvement in maintenance work
• Train subordinates on relevant procedures and best practices
• Prepare written reports on maintenance activities and findings
• Perform additional tasks as instructed or assigned
