Job Summary

The Technical Expert serves as the highest level of diagnostic authority within the workshop. This role is responsible for solving complex and intermittent technical issues that other technicians cannot resolve. They act as a mentor to the technical team, a liaison with the manufacturer for technical support, and ensure that all repairs meet the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex electrical, mechanical, and electronic diagnostics on various vehicle systems using advanced scan tools, oscilloscopes, and software
• Execute intricate repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and advanced electrical system troubleshooting
• Act as the go-to resource for other technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical advice
• Conduct final quality checks on vehicles repaired by other technicians to ensure work is performed correctly and safely
• Document and communicate complex technical issues with the manufacturer's technical support hotline
• Prepare detailed reports for warranty claims
• Assist in conducting internal training sessions to upskill the technician team on new models, systems, and repair procedures
• Manage and maintain specialized workshop tools and diagnostic equipment, ensuring they are calibrated and in good working order

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Associate degree in Automotive Technology (preferred)
