About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Standard Bank in Dar es Salaam. As Head of Payments for Stanbic Bank Tanzania's Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) division, you will be the primary architect and champion of our payments strategy. This is a high-visibility leadership role designed to transform the Tanzanian financial landscape by solving real-world problems for local, large regional corporates, and global organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Hold end-to-end accountability for the full lifecycle of Domestic and Cross-Border Payments
• Oversee Physical Cash Solutions and Liquidity Management
• Drive product innovation and high-performance sales strategy to maximize market share
• Optimize the bank's balance sheet through strategic payments management

Required Qualifications

• First Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years in Transactional Banking or Payments
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a top-tier bank
• 5-7 years of experience working within a multinational banking environment

Required Experience & Expertise

• Deep expertise in East African payment rails and liquidity management structures
• Knowledge of Tanzanian financial regulations and their nuances
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role combining product management and business development within the Tanzanian banking market
• Familiarity with regional and global financial market trends, particularly in Africa

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or professional certification (e.g., CertICM)
