Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Junior Draughtsman to join our growing team. This entry-level role focuses on preparing accurate technical drawings for aluminium fabrications and installations, supporting our projects in delivering quality solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details using AutoCAD (primary) and/or Revit for aluminium shopfronts, balustrades, showers, frameless glass systems, sliding doors/windows, and custom drawings
• Utilize industry-specific tools such as Bizman, StarFront (Wispeco/Crealco-based costing and design software), and/or similar glazing/aluminium programs (e.g., Glazier or equivalents) to generate accurate profiles, cutting lists, material take-offs, and cost estimates
• Interpret architectural drawings, client specifications, and site measurements to create precise technical submissions
• Revise drawings based on feedback from project managers, fabricators, installers, or clients
• Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, building regulations, and aluminium system specifications (e.g., Wispeco/Crealco profiles)
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation for completed projects
• Collaborate with the design and production teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency
• Maintain organized drawing files and archives

Requirements

• National Diploma, Certificate, or relevant qualification in Draughting, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related field (or currently studying towards one)
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
