Experienced bread baker required

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bread Baker to join our bakery team at Van Riebeeckshof SPAR in Durbanville. This is a hands-on position suited to someone with strong baking experience who can work independently and consistently produce high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily production of breads and rolls (white, brown, specialty, etc.)
• Mixing, proofing, shaping, and baking to a high standard
• Maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation
• Managing production schedules and minimizing waste
• Ensuring hygiene and food safety standards are strictly followed
• Assisting with stock control and ordering when required

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a bread baker (SPAR or retail bakery experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of dough handling, fermentation, and baking processes
• Ability to work early shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure
• High attention to detail and pride in your work
• Must live in or near the Northern Suburbs
