Senior Logistics Controller / Manager

About the Role

Ubuntu Logistics & Transportation is seeking a highly experienced Senior Logistics Controller / Manager to oversee and manage our growing transport operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating fleet operations, managing drivers and controllers, and ensuring efficient delivery of loads across long-haul routes.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport operations and fleet scheduling
• Manage logistics controllers, drivers, and operational staff
• Plan and coordinate long-haul loads and delivery schedules
• Monitor vehicle tracking, route performance, and driver compliance
• Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and according to client requirements
• Ensure insurance on all assets is in place
• Measure and record loads and diesel consumption
• Coordinate breakdowns, maintenance, and operational challenges
• Monitor fuel usage, operational costs, and fleet performance
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations and company policies

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years experience in a senior logistics or transport controller role
• Strong knowledge of long-haul transport operations
• Experience managing superlink / tautliner trucks and trailers
• Proven team management and leadership skills
• Excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication abilities
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong computer skills (tracking systems, Microsoft Office, transport systems)

Advantageous Experience

• Managing a large fleet
• Knowledge of transport compliance and operational systems
• Previous experience in a transport or logistics management role
