Junior Bookkeeper/Accountant Parow Cape Town REMOTE

About This Role

Our Accounting Firm client in Plattekloof, Parow, Cape Town is looking for a Junior Bookkeeper/Accountant. This position is ideal for a junior accounting graduate with 1-2 years' experience seeking valuable opportunity to develop knowledge and expertise in a busy and diverse accounting practice. In-house training will be provided.

Work Arrangement

The role begins in-office for training purposes and will transition to remote work.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurate processing of Pastel income statement and balance sheet items
• Monthly journals and reconciliations of all general ledgers
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Processing and reconciliation of customer and supplier ledgers
• VAT reconciliations
• Salary processing, checking, journals and SARS reconciliations
• Income tax calculations, form completions and submission of returns (individuals and companies)
• General assistance to Senior Accountants as required
• Professional communication with colleagues and clients

Requirements

• Accounting/B.Com degree or Diploma
• 1-2 years' experience (preferably from an accounting firm, but not essential)
• Computer literacy in MS Office
• Accounting Software experience with Pastel
