About the Role

Maersk is seeking an experienced Area Head of ATR and Financial Controlling for the West Africa region. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing accounting, treasury, and reporting functions while managing a dedicated team across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support strategic initiatives and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the region
• Oversee entire ATR service delivery to assigned stakeholder groups
• Ensure adherence to established standards while identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
• Maintain financial data integrity across all books of accounts through regular GL scrutiny and verification
• Strengthen process controls and ensure full compliance execution
• Conduct periodic performance management reviews and recommend implementation of improvement areas
• Review monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, identify potential financial exposures, and implement appropriate corrective actions
• Review monthly NOPAT statements and provide detailed explanations for significant variances
• Review Trial Balance as part of monthly Book Close and ensure accurate reporting
• Ensure expert-level compliance with IFRS and OHADA GAAP standards applicable to the region
• Support all audit types including statutory, tax, governmental, and internal audits
• Drive NFTP implementation and enhancements for WAF Area entities in line with project timelines
• Participate in and contribute to global and regional projects
• Manage, coach, and lead the team to achieve top-quartile engagement levels
• Conduct MPACT conversations and actively support team career planning and progression
• Facilitate functional and technical training for team members, including OHADA and French language training
