About the Role

Wärtsilä is seeking a Senior Operations Expert to join our Africa and Europe Operations Management team. This is a permanent position based in Dakar, Senegal (with flexibility for other locations including Trieste, Italy).

The Africa and Europe Operations Management team is a specialized unit dedicated to supporting Wärtsilä long-term agreement customers in their daily and long-term operations. Our goal is to optimize installation lifecycle costs and overall performance by working closely with customers and other Wärtsilä product experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as direct operational support expert (mechanical/automation) for internal colleagues and customer site personnel
• Conduct analysis and develop conclusions and recommendations through detailed reports to solve complex operational problems
• Analyze field experience and customer feedback data to improve operation and maintenance of installations, as well as products and solutions
• Provide operational support to internal and external customers
• Visit sites when deeper product, system, and/or performance analysis is required
• Follow up on Operational and Technical Requests for installations under Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA)
• Report work progress to relevant stakeholders
• Participate in customer meetings as technical operational expert to address complex operational challenges
• Report on and propose improvement needs for products and solutions
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of the latest operational developments and best practices

About You

You are a highly skilled engineer with the ability to support operations challenges from remote locations and on-site. You demonstrate strong expertise in mechanical and automation systems, with a commitment to ensuring safety and smooth energy production operations while optimizing plant performance and costs.
