About the Position

Wärtsilä is recruiting a Trainee Engineer for Shift Operations at our Bel Air site in Dakar, Senegal. We are leading the transition towards a 100% renewable energy future, and we're looking for future-oriented talent to join our team and work towards enabling sustainable societies through innovation in technology and services.

Main Responsibilities

• Actively seek to improve operations and maintenance knowledge of plant equipment
• Develop a complete understanding of the Engine and its auxiliary systems
• Assist supervisors in plant operation routine activities
• Monitor all parameters in close liaison with senior shift members
• Gain knowledge of O&M Agreement plant-related clauses
• Support the Operation Manager in daily reporting and various analyses
• Observe health and safety guidelines at all times

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed university with a good academic record
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications
• Fluency in English
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• High integrity and ownership
• Target-oriented and self-motivated mindset
• Local resident of Dakar and surrounding areas (Required)
