About the Opportunity

Maersk is seeking an experienced Area Head of ATR and Financial Controlling for the West Africa region. This strategic role combines financial oversight, process management, and team leadership to ensure operational excellence and financial integrity across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Support regional strategies and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Oversee entire ATR (Accounts and Treasury Reconciliation) service delivery to assigned stakeholder groups
• Ensure compliance with established standards while identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
• Maintain financial data integrity of books of accounts and conduct regular GL scrutiny to ensure accuracy
• Strengthen process controls and ensure compliance execution across all financial operations
• Conduct periodic performance management reviews and recommend improvement areas for implementation
• Review monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations, identify financial exposures, and implement appropriate actions
• Monitor monthly NOPAT and provide explanations for significant variances
• Review Trial Balance during monthly Book Close to ensure accurate reporting
• Apply expert knowledge of IFRS/OHADA GAAP standards relevant to the region and ensure full compliance
• Support all types of audits including statutory, tax, government, and internal audits
• Drive NFTP implementation and enhancements for WAF area entities according to project plans
• Participate and contribute to global and regional projects
• Manage, coach, and lead assigned team members, drive engagement, conduct performance conversations, and actively support career planning and progression
• Facilitate functional and technical training for team members, including OHADA standards and French language instruction where applicable
