About Horticulture in Reality Corporation Limited (HoReCo)

Horticulture in Reality Corporation Limited (HoReCo) is a youth-led agribusiness company comprising 93 shareholders with diverse expertise in agriculture. The company was founded by alumni of the Agro-Studies Program, a bilateral training initiative between the governments of Rwanda and Israel, where founders completed eleven months of practical agricultural training.

HoReCo's team brings professional expertise across multiple agricultural disciplines, including horticulture, crop production, agronomy, agribusiness, agriculture mechanization, soil and water management, soil sciences, irrigation and drainage, and animal production.

To be the leading transformative youth company that provides quality agricultural services and creates a strong reputation for excellence in delivering extension services and agricultural innovations using modern technologies.

Mission

To be the best partner for farmers and agricultural stakeholders by striving for operational excellence to transform subsistence agriculture into a modern agro-business enterprise, integrating sustainable crop production and modern irrigation technology.

Objectives

HoReCo's overall objective is to improve Rwanda's food security by applying modern farming practices, research innovations, and technology to agriculture, resulting in real and tangible long-term income for farming communities.

Specific areas of intervention include:

• Growing and trialing various crops across different regions of the country
• Delivering extension services on crop production and value chain traceability
• Delivering extension services on the operation, maintenance, and management of irrigation schemes
• Providing and facilitating agricultural support services
