Eggs Production and Multiplication Technician

Position Overview

The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) is recruiting self-motivated and qualified candidates for the position of Eggs Production and Multiplication Technician in Kigali, Rwanda.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Emerging Commodities Division Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the Silkworm Egg Production Plan to meet annual cocoon production targets
• Undertake silkworm egg production activities and ensure mulberry plantations are well maintained for egg production
• Distribute silkworm eggs to farmers on time and ensure timely follow-up
• Provide advice to farmers on issues related to distributed silkworm eggs
• Ensure the quality of silkworm eggs distributed to farmers
• Monitor the quality of cocoons produced from distributed silkworm eggs
• Ensure quality control and proper reception of cocoons delivered by farmers to NSC

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Crop Science, or Crop Production

Required Experience and Skills

• Skills and experience in the sericulture industry with field production experience
• Proven experience in farmer capacity building and strategic development to empower agricultural smallholder farmers
• Ability to understand agricultural production factors and marketing in complex business environments
• Team working and motivation skills
• Strong communication skills
• Report writing and presentation skills
• Computer skills
• Creativity and innovation
• Competency in English; working knowledge of French and/or Kinyarwanda is an added advantage
