Job Overview

The Junior Mine Geologist will learn and understand geological processes within the company and best geological practices to assist the Mine Geologist in daily tasks. The initial role involves practical and theoretical training through observation, mentoring from the Mine Geologist, and research of available materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Familiarize yourself with geological processes used in the company and develop a comprehensive understanding within a set timeframe
• Shadow the Mine Geologist in daily tasks to build competency in performing these tasks independently
• Study all available geological materials to develop advanced understanding of the resource and provide advice and support to mining operations
• Understand the role of the MRM (Mining Resource Management) department within mining operations
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations
• Comply with all company policies and procedures
• Perform additional tasks as required by the supervisor and/or management

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mine Geology or similar qualification
• 3 years of experience, preferably in a mining environment
• Basic knowledge of mining operations
• Knowledge of CAD software and spatial data software
• Basic proficiency with standard computer packages
