About the Organization

DUHAMIC-ADRI is a National Non-Governmental Organization that has been legally operating in Rwanda since 1985. In partnership with the Government of Rwanda and development partners, DUHAMIC-ADRI implements programs across the country focusing on economic empowerment, agriculture, environment protection and conservation, social behavior change sensitization, emergency response, and capacity building with a focus on vulnerable populations.

Project Overview

DUHAMIC-ADRI is partnering with the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) to implement the "Partnership to Strengthen the Egg Value Chain in the Western Province of Rwanda" project. The project operates across three districts: Rusizi, Nyamasheke, and Karongi in Western Province.

The main objective is to increase the capacity of poultry farmers in egg production (SASSO breeds) and establish localized input systems that consistently provide feed and day-old chicks to poultry producers in the Western Province.

Position Details

• Number of Positions: 3 Field Officers
• Location: DUHAMIC-ADRI sub-offices (1 in Rusizi, 1 in Nyamasheke, 1 in Karongi)
• Reports to: Project Coordinator
• Contract Type: One-year renewable based on performance
• Monthly Salary: 602,000 RWF

Major Responsibilities

• Register project participants and create egg producer groups
• Integrate savings and financial education activities with egg producer groups
• Select Lead Farmers and local market facilitators
• Establish and manage demonstration sites
• Provide peer-to-peer coaching to group members
• Engage and coordinate with local stakeholders
• Collaborate with Enterprise Development & Marketing Specialist to identify affordable markets and facilitate market linkages
• Lead and implement field activities related to project objectives
