## Title: Data Officer

Organization Mission

The overall goal of the program in Rwanda is to improve the well-being and self-reliance of the displaced refugee population from eastern DRC and Burundi by ensuring the provision of basic services including adequate health care, nutrition, sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence prevention, livelihood support, and HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. The program operates across six refugee camps located in Rwanda, with a focus on improving food security and enabling economic recovery.

Position Overview

The Data Officer oversees the collection of data and ensures that all data is complete, accurate, and updated in a timely manner and recorded in electronic systems. This position reports directly to the Medical Coordinator.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with clinical health staff to ensure that data collected is complete, accurate, and up to date at all times
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete data entry of records in computerized systems as required
  • Assemble data necessary to complete all required reports in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all source documents including patient files, registers, and reports are available during data quality assessment (DQA) activities
  • Actively participate in internal and external data quality assessments
  • Actively participate in IDSR (Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response) activities at health center and community level
  • Ensure the availability and regular updating of registers for rumors and engage community health workers (CHWs) in collecting and reporting alerts
  • Ensure that applications capturing and updating institutional data incorporate edit and validation checks to assure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data
  • Check and correct data inconsistencies and document all corrections made to data at any stage of data management
  • Maintain and update health-related records in the records center and at clinical service delivery areas to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Ensure that active, inactive, perpetual, and/or electronic records are accessible only to authorized personnel as per the SOP manual
