## Title: Coffee Cupping and Processing Specialist

Job Profile

The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) seeks self-motivated and qualified candidates for the position of Coffee Cupping and Processing Specialist. Reporting to the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Division Manager, this role is responsible for leading cupping operations and ensuring quality standards across coffee post-harvest facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of cuppers and report on performance of sample collection, coding, roasting, cupping, and storage of reference samples
  • Ensure proper documentation of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Division Standard Operating Procedures in collaboration with the Sampling and Coding Officer and Quality Assurance and Control Specialist
  • Prepare cupping laboratories for accreditation and QMS re-certification
  • Develop and submit training programs for coffee cuppers for supervisory approval
  • Coordinate sample preparations including roasting and grinding
  • Manage sensory laboratory equipment preventive maintenance and environmental control to ensure reliable cupping results
  • Conduct professional sensory evaluation (cupping) of coffee samples in accordance with international protocols (SCA and CQI)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Biotechnology, Food Science, Chemistry, Agriculture Economics, or Agri-business
  • At least one professional certification, including but not limited to: Q Grader, Q Processing, SCA Sensory Skills – Professional, SCA Green Coffee – Intermediate, or ISO 17025
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience working with coffee post-harvest facilities such as coffee washing stations, warehouses, dry mills, coffee cupping laboratories, and roasting plants
  • Proven experience in coffee cupping or quality assurance (preferred)
