Organization Overview
The International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) is an international not-for-profit organization that is part of CGIAR, a global research partnership uniting organizations engaged in research for a food-secure future. CIAT's mandate is to reduce hunger and poverty and improve human nutrition in the tropics through research aimed at increasing the eco-efficiency of agriculture.
CIAT operates multiple projects across Africa, with its main regional office for Africa based in Nairobi, Kenya, and sub-regional offices in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, DR Congo, and Zambia.
Purpose and Eligibility
Purpose
This RFP invites prospective offerors to submit proposals for Group Medical Insurance coverage for approximately 29 employees, plus up to four (4) dependents per employee.
The insurance provider must be established in Rwanda and able to demonstrate sufficient capacity to extend services to the locations referenced in this RFP.
The proposed medical coverage must clearly define and include:
- In-patient and out-patient coverage for individuals and families
- Maternity coverage
- Pre-existing conditions and chronic disease coverage
- Vision coverage
- Dental coverage
- Any additional services offered by the company
Eligibility
This procurement is open to organizations incorporated or legally registered under the laws of the Republic of Rwanda.

General Information
