Position Overview

AHF Rwanda is seeking a highly competent Laboratory Scientist to provide laboratory oversight across all AHF-supported health facilities in the northern, western, and eastern provinces. The successful candidate will be based in Musanze District.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide laboratory oversight in all AHF-supported health facilities in the eastern province and ensure adherence to standard laboratory protocols
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting of laboratory services
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a safe working environment in laboratory facilities
• Provide basic laboratory services for routine monitoring of HIV patients
• Oversee laboratory services provision and ensure standard, current practices are in place for maintaining high-quality laboratory services and maximizing resource utilization
• Participate in planning and overseeing support supervision activities for laboratory functions across all sites and partners, including community-based HIV testing
• Ensure compliance and implementation of laboratory protocols for all laboratory technicians and staff
• Directly supervise laboratory assistants and staff operating laboratory equipment
• Coordinate with laboratory vendors and external partners
• Conduct training, support supervision, mentorship, and team-building exercises for laboratory staff
• Maintain high quality of laboratory services at healthcare centers
