Position Overview
Under the supervision of the Training Manager, with day-to-day coordination of the Homestay, Language and Culture Coordinator, the Language and Cross-Culture Facilitator instructs Peace Corps Trainees (PCTs) and Volunteers (PCVs) in Kinyarwanda language and provides cross-cultural instruction and guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Kinyarwanda language to Peace Corps Trainees and Volunteers using established techniques, methods, and training materials
- Advise and teach Trainees on cross-cultural items and issues
- Conduct intensive language drills to correct pronunciation, tone patterns, and grammatical structures
- Schedule and administer reviews and assessments to evaluate language proficiency
- Support trainees in cultural integration and understanding
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Kinyarwanda language instruction
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills
- Experience teaching language to adult learners
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Moral integrity and commitment to continuous improvement
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach to work
Position Details
- Location: Kigali, Rwanda
- Contract Period: July 12 – November 30 (Not to Exceed 90 days)
- Daily Compensation Range: 42,469 RWF – 72,197 RWF
