Position Overview

Department: Human Resources & Administration

Reports To: Human Resources Manager

Job Brief

The Labour Controller is responsible for assisting and supporting the HR Department with all HR functions on mining sites, including monitoring AWOP (Absent Without Permission) for sites, recording all labour changes, injury monitoring, and employee safety and relations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor AWOP (Absent Without Permission) of underground crews and surface labour
• Record all changes in mining labour and prepare reports
• Compile daily mining labour figures
• Record and report injuries related to mining labour
• Monitor PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) compliance and proper usage
• Support First Aid practices on site
• Ensure compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures
• Adhere to and enforce company work and leave schedules in designated work areas
• Ensure teams comply with all Company Policies and Procedures
• Perform other duties related to the role as assigned by Supervisor or Management

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma in Human Resources or related field
• Health & Safety training (First Aid certification)
• Minimum 1 year experience in a mining environment or related field
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• English language proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

• A1 Diploma in Mining (RPLC Graduate)
