Médecins Sans Frontières - Support Unit Kampala (SUKA) is recruiting a Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview
This full-time position is based in Kampala, Uganda, and involves managing all purchasing activities for the Support Unit Kampala Office. You will ensure optimal operations of the mission by executing procurement activities according to MSF protocols and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day purchasing activities in the Support Unit Kampala Office in compliance with MSF protocols and standards
- Analyze market sources and competitive pricing conditions to identify optimal purchasing opportunities
- Assess the local market continuously to identify products and suppliers offering the best value for money
- Negotiate prices to guarantee the best quality and pricing for MSF goods and commodities
- Manage administrative and accounting procedures related to purchases, including completing purchase orders and checking delivery notes against orders
- Update and maintain purchase list information following completed purchases
- File and archive all procurement-related documents
- Encode data and manage information in the MSF Enterprise Resource Planning system (Unified)
- Execute and follow-up on orders with suppliers in a timely manner, respecting lead-time requirements for stock items, consumables, and office supplies
- Maintain up-to-date inventory records
