Yard Coordinator at Tincan Island Container Terminal

About the Role

The Yard Coordinator works with the Yard Manager within a shift to manage all yard container handling including storing, stacking, deliveries, pick-ups, heavy lifting, empty return/dispatch, internal yard grooming, and housekeeping details. The incumbent handles all planning and execution of container traffic across the operational value chain of the business whilst ensuring optimal spatial management to meet marine and vessel operational needs within a shift.

Shift Leadership

• Oversee the entire yard function during a shift
• Plan and allocate manpower and other resources in the yard within a shift

Yard Planning & Reporting

• Attend weekly operations meetings and departmental daily meetings to align manpower needed for terminal equipment
• Effectively plan yard layouts for imports, exports, and empty containers following set yard specifications
• Allocate yard ranges for imports and exports per vessel
• Implement complete yard processes to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency
• Maintain yard setup and planning to accommodate maximum yard equipment productivity
• Maintain real-time visibility of yard conditions and container movements via the TOS
• Prepare shift reports for the Yard Manager and the next Yard Coordinator in duty

Yard Operations

• Work collaboratively with Yard Admin, Vessel Planners, Yard Planners, Vessel Coordinators, and the Shift Manager
• Maintain real-time visibility of yard conditions and container movements via the TOS
• Coordinate with planners to ensure yard readiness for vessel operations, barge operations, scanning, examination, and gate deliveries
• Support mission assignment, execution of yard strategy, and timely resolution of discrepancies in container location or status
• Ensure efficient communication flow between field teams and control room
