Position Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to operate, monitor, and supervise Water Treatment Plant (WTP) systems. In this role, you will ensure continuous supply of treated water meeting power plant quality requirements, while maintaining safety, efficiency, and compliance with standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and control raw water, DM plant, RO, UF, softener, clarifier, and filtration systems
- Ensure treated water quality meets boiler, cooling tower, and process requirements
- Monitor plant parameters including flow, pressure, conductivity, pH, silica, hardness, and chlorine levels
- Carry out chemical dosing, regeneration, backwashing, and troubleshooting activities
- Supervise shift technicians and operators; assign and oversee duties
- Maintain daily operation logs, water balance, and chemical consumption records
- Coordinate with Boiler, Turbine, and Cooling Tower operations teams
- Handle minor maintenance activities and coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment breakdowns
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory standards
- Respond promptly to plant upsets, alarms, and emergency situations
- Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals
Required Qualifications
- HND, B.Tech, or B.Eng in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering
- Certification in water treatment operations (advantageous)
Required Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in WTP operations, preferably in a power plant or large industrial utility
- Hands-on experience with DM plant, RO systems, and cooling water treatment
