Job Summary

We are recruiting a Resident Veterinary Doctor for a large-scale livestock production facility located in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team in a growing agricultural operation.

Job Responsibilities

• Examine animals and assess their health status
• Diagnose illnesses and determine appropriate treatment plans
• Dress wounds and treat injuries in animals
• Perform dental, ophthalmic, and orthopedic surgeries
• Vaccinate animals to prevent diseases
• Spay and neuter animals as needed
• Prescribe medication and manage pharmaceutical protocols
• Advise clients on animal nutrition, preventive healthcare, and general care
• Conduct emergency home visits when required
• Maintain and update comprehensive client records

Requirements and Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in livestock farming operations and management
• Experience working in environmentally controlled facilities (desirable)
• Expertise in poultry medicine, diagnosis, production, and management
• Proven work experience as a poultry medicine diagnostician or similar role (advantageous)
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Leadership capabilities with impeccable professional character

Compensation

N250,000 – N350,000 monthly, depending on experience.
