This role focuses on creating accurate 2D/3D designs, integrating armour materials, ensuring manufacturability, and supporting the entire product lifecycle—from concept through production. You will work closely with R&D, production, procurement, and quality teams to deliver high-performance ballistic and blast-resistant products.
Key Responsibilities
Armour Design & Engineering
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for armour components, ballistic panels, glass assemblies, and structural reinforcements
- Create armour kits tailored to specific vehicles or structures, ensuring accurate fit, material optimization, and threat-level compliance
- Integrate armour materials (steel, composites, ceramics, ballistic glass) into existing vehicle architectures without compromising functionality or aesthetics
- Perform technical calculations and design evaluations for strength, weight, and ballistic performance
CAD Modelling & Documentation
- Use CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor, AutoCAD or similar) to produce detailed, production-ready drawings
- Maintain drawing revisions, engineering change requests (ECR), and bill of materials (BOMs)
- Ensure designs adhere to internal engineering standards and quality requirements
Collaboration & Technical Support
- Work with production engineers and technicians to ensure designs are manufacturable, efficient, and cost-effective
- Support installation teams by providing clear instructions, drawings, and troubleshooting assistance
- Collaborate with R&D teams to incorporate new materials, technologies, and design improvements
