Technical Design Engineer at Proforce Limited

About the Role

An established company is seeking a Technical Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve automotive components, systems, and assemblies. The successful candidate will create 2D/3D models, prepare technical drawings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all designs meet performance, safety, and quality standards. You will play a key role in prototyping, testing, and supporting the transition of designs into mass production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive parts, systems, and assemblies using CAD/CAE tools
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, models, and design documentation
• Collaborate with production, R&D, procurement, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability of designs
• Conduct simulations, stress analysis, and performance evaluations of components
• Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies
• Review and improve existing designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and durability
• Provide technical support during production and troubleshoot design-related issues
• Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress
• Stay updated on new design methodologies, tools, and automotive technologies

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in automotive or mechanical design engineering

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in CAD/CAE software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD
• Experience with design validation, prototyping, and manufacturing processes

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in CAD/CAE tools and design software
• Knowledge of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Good problem-solving abilities
