About the Role
An established company is seeking a Technical Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve automotive components, systems, and assemblies. The successful candidate will create 2D/3D models, prepare technical drawings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all designs meet performance, safety, and quality standards. You will play a key role in prototyping, testing, and supporting the transition of designs into mass production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive parts, systems, and assemblies using CAD/CAE tools
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, models, and design documentation
- Collaborate with production, R&D, procurement, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability of designs
- Conduct simulations, stress analysis, and performance evaluations of components
- Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies
- Review and improve existing designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and durability
- Provide technical support during production and troubleshoot design-related issues
- Maintain accurate records of design changes and project progress
- Stay updated on new design methodologies, tools, and automotive technologies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in automotive or mechanical design engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in CAD/CAE software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD
- Experience with design validation, prototyping, and manufacturing processes
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong proficiency in CAD/CAE tools and design software
- Knowledge of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Good problem-solving abilities
